Red Oak

The heart wood of red oak is a pinkish-reddish brown and sapwood is white to light brown. It is hard, heavy, with medium-bending strength and stiffness.The wood is similar in general appearance to white oak, but with a slightly less-pronounced figure due to the smaller rays. The wood is mostly straight-grained, with a coarse texture.It is mainly used in furniture, flooring, molding, doors, architectural mill work, kitchen cabinets, paneling, and caskets.
